Our Process

STEP 1:

Schedule your free, no-obligation inspection.

Once you book through our web form or calling our office, we will send out one of our roof replacement experts to do a free, no-obligation inspection. One of our professional, experienced estimators will evaluate your roof and determine the most ideal solution moving forward.

STEP 2:

Is your roof due for an age-based repair or replacement or did we find damage caused by a storm?

Unfortunately no roof lasts forever. Like everything, roofs get old and sometimes need to be repaired or replaced after time. In addition, water, hail, and wind damage, as well as damage from falling and flying debris like tree branches is common in Florida.

We’ve seen countless storms and seemingly countless situations but you can take comfort in knowing that you are working with Skymark Roofing. Our team brings over 35 years of local roofing experience, ranging from new construction to storm damage restoration and more.

If our professional estimator determines that your roof is in need of a short-term repair, or even a more long-term replacement due to age or a storm damaged compromise, you’ll know that you are in the right hands. We’ll walk you through the next steps in the process and leave you feeling comfortable and confident in your choice of a professional roofing company.

STEP 3:

We’ll get started on the contract; including time and cost.

Our customers feel confident in seeing our written contract before we begin our work together. Our contract serves as the official agreement between you the homeowner and Skymark Roofing. It details out exactly what we will do and when and even allows us to assist the homeowner in the navigation of the *insurance claim process (when applicable); saving you countless hours of time and and money saved.

Our cost estimates are accurate as well. We use Xactimate. Xactimate is the industry’s most powerful and comprehensive solution for property claims estimation and the number one choice for restoration professionals thanks to its accuracy and flexibility throughout all stages of the repair process creating accurate estimates for restoration jobs of every kind.

STEP 4:

Your *insurance adjuster will inspect your roof

Before we begin our work, it is necessary that your *insurance adjuster have the opportunity to properly assess your roof (when applicable), including their professional assessment of the work to be completed.

With over 35 years of local roofing experience and countless roofs replaced, we truly are experts in helping you and your *insurance adjuster navigate this process, removing any unnecessary burden from you.

STEP 5:

Pre-Installation

Upon timely approval from you of the written work estimate and your *insurance company of the claim (when applicable), we will immediately schedule your roof repair or replacement. We’ll communicate with you and any other occupants of your home on important details like timeline, expectations, important do’s and don’ts as they relate to our work on repairing and restoring your home’s roof.

STEP 6:

*An important note about insurance and the insurance claims process:

During the 2021 Florida legislative session, the Florida Senate passed Senate Bill 76, a bill that focuses on reducing litigation related to property insurance claims and also places restrictions on companies soliciting insureds to file roof claims.

SB 76 addresses several issues related specifically to roof claims. Notably, the legislation prohibits advertisements by contractors that encourage, instruct, or induce a consumer to contact a contractor or public adjuster to make an insurance claim for roof damage. SB 76 also prohibits soliciting by contractors, including both in-person and electronic solicitation (phone, email, text, etc.). Further, the legislation prohibits contractors from offering residential property owners inducements (gift cards, cash, rebates, coupons) in exchange for allowing the contractor to inspect the roof or to file a roof claim with the property owner’s insurer.

Furthermore, SB 76 prohibits a contractor from interpreting a property owner’s insurance policy or from advising a property owner as to coverage under the insurance policy. An exception to these prohibitions in the legislation exists in situations where the contractor is also a licensed public adjuster. Lastly, SB 76 prohibits contractors from performing repairs for an insured property owner without first providing the property owner with a detailed cost estimate. The legislation provides that any roof contractor (either directly or through its employees and agents) may be fined up to $10,000 for any violation.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed SB 76 into law, with an effective date of July 1, 2021.
